SpreadStone Wall Tile Application

The SpreadStone Wall Tile Refinishing Kit is a simple brush and roller application that you can apply as a seamless finish right over your existing wall tile. It is a real stone overlay that's great for use on tile in bathrooms, shower enclosures, kitchen backsplashes and more. Ideal for both residential and commercial use.

STEP ONE: Brush Wall Tile Bond Coat uniformly into all grout lines and follow by immediately rolling Bond Coat over the entire tile surface. Do not leave groutlines filled with bond coat. Bond Coat should cleanly follow the contours of the tile surface. Allow the Bond Coat to dry until the following day.

STEP TWO: Apply the Stone Base Coat onto the dry surface. In the same manner as the Bond Coat application, begin by brushing the Stone Base Coat uniformly into all grout lines and immediately follow with a uniform roller-applied coat (using the enclosed fabric roller) across the entire tile surface. Allow the Stone Base Coat to dry for 30 - 60 minutes before proceeding.

STEP THREE: Apply the Stone Accent Coat onto the dry Stone Base Coat using the enclosed sponge roller as directed. Load the roller lightly and apply in a continual "X" pattern with light roller pressure until the entire surface is decorated with the stone finish. Avoid rolling Stone Accent Coat into the grout lines. Allow to dry for approximately 30 minutes.

STEP FOUR: Apply the Stone Highlight Coat over top of the dry Stone Accent Coat in the same manner, using the enclosed sponge roller as directed. Load the roller lightly and apply in a continual "X" pattern with light roller pressure until the entire surface is decorated with the stone finish. Avoid rolling Stone Accent Coat into the grout lines. With all stone coatings applied to satisfaction, allow the surface to cure until the following day.

Optional sanding: If you wish to minimize and soften any texture in the stone finish, the surface can be lightly sanded prior to application of clear coat. Use 120 grit sandpaper in a circular motion by hand. To avoid breathing sanding dust, wear a NIOSH approved dust mask and then vacuum ALL sanding dust off the surface. Give the tile a final wipe with a damp (not wet) cloth to remove any remaining fine dust.

STEP FIVE: Apply the enclosed Clear Coat for ultimate durability, water, stain and chemical resistance to keep the surface looking like new. Begin by brushing the Stone Stone Clear Coat uniformly into all grout lines and immediately follow with a uniform roller-applied coat (using the enclosed fabric roller) across the entire tile surface. If you wish to apply a second coat of the clear, which is optional, you may do so after the first coat has dried for 6 hours. With application completed, allow 24 hours for the surface to cure before resuming use of the surface where ther will be contact with water.
